Tamfest Performance - September 2014

This year Tamfest ( Tamil Festival ) conducted by Northern New Jersey team was lots of fun.
 Vishwa followed his sister's footsteps and gave his first stage performance along with his sister and cousin rahul.

 The kids sang the song Nila Kaigirathu and then a minute of hoola hoop dance.
The performance was  a great hit. !

Shreya in NJTS show - October 2014

We had extreme fun at the  2 day show of New Jersey Tamil Sangam.
Shreya got a chance to perform two tamil movie songs with the live orchestra band of Mr.Vasanth Vaseegaran's team.
 It was  a great opportunity and she enjoyed it to the core.
She sang two songs , ' amudhey tamizhe' and ' putham pudhu boomi' with the other girls.
 Keep learning.. Music is an ocean, you have just started dipping your feet in the water. Wishing u all success dear. !

trophy from CMANA - September 2014

Winning a trophy in the Great Composers Day, GCD of CMANA (Carnatic Music Association of North America) had always been a dream for me as well as my bublie.
 She has participated consecutively three years in the CMANA and this time. yess...she won a prize.
It was definitely a proud moment . She sang the song 'Mayil meedhu' set to Raaga 'Vaasanti'.
My bublie always loves to do solo performances on stage , I had always admired her interest and enthusiasm to sing. Amidst of all kids of her age who are scared to sing solo and want to stick with group performances, my little girl always prefers to go solo. :)

 May God bless her for more and more trophies , keep working and keep winning sweetie pie ! :)

Love for animals

I loves animals a lot . I always wanted a pet . Now i own a cute bird. Feeding animals is my favorite.
When i'm surrounded with animals, it makes me feel so happy.

Shreya's keyboard performances

Shreya has been watching keyboard and trying it out from the age of 2 :) and started taking her keyboard lessons from the age of five. Every year, the school has an annual day performances to showcase the student's talent. Thanks to her teacher Ms.Harpreet for shaping her nicely. A video archive of the past three years' keyboard performances on stage. 2012 : 'Love Somebody' English song. Shreya is 5 yrs old. 2013 : 6 year old Shreya plays 'Home on the range' English song. 2014 : 7 years old plays aawara baware (poo pookum osai in tamil)composed by A.r.rahman.

Father's day song - 2014

Shreya watches her dad composing tunes in his music studio often, She got inspired and decided to compose her own song as a gift for her dad for father's day, 2014. I was surprised to see her play keyboard and write notes and make a song at this age(second grader) without anyone's help. To support her , I shot a video of her playing her song and made dad special on this father's day. Here is the link of the video.

Shreya - Chinna Chinna Aasai

Shreya has showed great interest and talent in music from the age of 2 . She had the habit of listening to my music classes sitting on my lap when I teach and exhibiting a good shruti and swara gnanam. She has been learning Carnatic music from me and has performed in many stage performances. Her appa is a music composer and she tried her first song in his music studio in our residence. The song is originally sung by the singer Minmini from the movie 'Roja' composed by A.r.rahman. loved her first attempt and her child voice will be cherished forever.

Birthday Card for amma

Though I receive so many birthday wishes and messages from friends and family, there is always a special expectation and joy to receive my bublie's hand made card and a hug/kiss. This year , She had done a beautiful card for my birthday (just got over) , her baby picture glued to it and her special words. Thanks sweetie...

Bharatnatyam Dress up.

Last weekend, we attended a Bharatnatyam dance arangetram of our family friend's daughter 'Shivani'. Shreya used to attend dance classes for a year or so and took a break from it as she wanted to focus on music. Though she quit classical dance, she used to love dancing and due to the arangetram effect, I tried to dress her up in the costume we bought for her. Great time pass for a summer holiday , Both of us had great fun on our photo shoot :)

MOM's SPEECH:

First of all, I would like to thank God for blessing me with such a wonderful family with 2 little kids. As we are enjoying their childhood moments happily , I have decided to start a blog for my daughter( Now that she is 8 yrs old, she has been asking me to create a blog for her:)) ) to save/log her childhood memories.  Though I am starting this blog, at one point she's going to rule this blog.

 To start with , a little introduction about my little bublie. Yeah, I used to call her 'bublie' when she was little and though it has become rare now, she is still my bubbly lovable cutie pie. I still remember the moment I held her in my arms as a tiny baby ! OMG she was so cute..
These 8 years have been awesome and I love and cherish each and every moment of our togetherness.
She is an enthusiastic brave girl who loves to draw, sing, dance..try everything that she sees and of course a best daughter cum big sister. God bless her with lotssa of joy and guide her throughout her life journey.
